Do I have to register to order designs?

Yes. I only accept orders from customers who are registered. As soon as you are registered, you can check your previous orders, view or change account information, view or change entries in your address book (address for invoice), change your account password and subsribe or unsubscribe from the newsletter.
Please check my privacy policy to be informed how I secure your personal information.

I forgot my account password, how do I get it?

If you have forgotten your account password, click on the link that says "Forgot your password?" Fill out the email address and a new password will be automatically send to your email address provided when you registered.

How do I order?

Here are the single steps for a successful order process:

1. Choose and order a design
At the home page of the site you will find Icons which you can double click at to see the single designs: Scroll through the pages to see all details of the designs. Click "Add to cart" to order a design

2. Proceed to checkout
Click at "Proceed to checkout".

3. Log in to your account or sign in
In order to continue customers have to log in with their email address and password. New customers have to create their profile.

4. Check billing information
Check your billing information. If necessary edit it.

5. Check Payment information
Select a payment method for this order.

6. Order Overview
Summary page of your order.

7. Terms and conditions and cancellation instruction
Acknowledge the terms and conditions and the cancellation instruction bound to this order by ticking the checkboxes.

8. Place order
Place your order here. Now your order is complete.


You will receive an email with all the details of your order.

Can I order any other way besides online?

You may only purchase designs online.

Do you deliver your designs on CD?

No, all Designs are downloadable products, I do not deliver on CD.

I did not receive a confirmation email, what can I do?

Here are the 3 most common resaons for not receiving an confirmation email:
You mistyped your email address,
the confirmation went to your SPAM folder,
your ISP blocked the email.

How to return Designs?

Any purchase made is final. This means you cannot return items, once you paid or downloaded files from the shop to your computer.

How to subscribe/unsubscribe from the newsletter?

In the “My account” section of the website you will find the section “Newsletter subscriptions”. Subscribe/unsubscribe here from the newsletter. Also at the left side you will find also a “Newsletter” button to subscribe/unsubscribe.

How to contact Anja Rieger Design?

Take a look at the left side of this page. See the “Contact Anja Rieger” button? Click it, fill the form and send it to me. I will get back to you as soon as possible. You will find the contact button also at the end of every page. If you want to contact me by mail use the information under “Impressum – Legal Disclosure”.

No commercial use, without the separate licence agreement,what does it mean?

The designs can be stitched on unlimited items for your private use. Items with the stitched design are not for sale and may not be traded (e.g. on E-Bay, through a website, at markets, or in craft shops), without my separate licence agreement. This agreement contains the conditions for the separate commercial as well as the independent professional usage of the files containing my embroidery patterns. Please note: It is a substantial breach of our relationship, if you use my designs for commercial as well as independent professional usage without the separate utilisation and licence agreement. The embroidery patterns themselves may not be sold, copied, imitated, traded or shared with your friends.

Why do I have to obtain a separate licence for commercial usage?

Without the separate licence agreement you may use my designs only for private purpose. The licence agreement contains the conditions for commercial or other professional purposes using my embroidery patterns, for example how to display the originating reference on own products.

How can I obtain a licence?

Take a look at the left side of this page. See the “Anja Rieger Licence” button? Click it, fill the form and send it to me. I will process your request within three to five working days.

Who is Anja Rieger Licences?

Anja Rieger Licences is a divison of Anja Rieger Design which deals exclusively with your licence requests.

Do you provide any free designs (freebies)?

Yes - there are freebies at the website!!!

Can I order a catalog?

Currently, I do not provide a printed catalog. You can browse all of my designs to find your favorite designs.

What currency are your prices in?

All my prices are in US Dollar or in Euro. It depends on what store view you have set. You can control the store view by yourself via the two flag symbols on the left navigation bar.

What is a format and which format does my embroidery machine need?

Every embroidery machine speaks its own language. This language is called format. You´ll need to know what brand your embroidery machine is and what format your machine needs. Here is a chart, which helps you out. But also check your manual to be on the safe side.

Which formats are offered?

I offer nearly all designs in the format PES, JEF, JEF+, HUS, VIP, SEW, EXP, DST, PCS and XXX for downloading. Please take a look at your favorite design and see the available formats. You do not have to choose the format during the order process (with the exception of Embroidery Design Sets - to avoid large and slow file downlod). This avoids choosing possibly the wrong file format during your order. You download your designs in all the above mentioned formats available for the single design and then you choose the format you really need for your embroidery machine. Please note, I do not offer PCS for all designs and the ART format. Instead of ART you might use EXP, please consult your manual for further information.

How can I download designs?

You will find the designs stored in the „My account“ section of the website. Just follow the link in the email confirmation of your order or sign in again to your account. To download your designs go the "My downloadable products", click at the .zip or .pdf file and choose “Save to Disk” from the popup menu. You can download each design twice from the website.

What can I do, if my design will not download to my computer?

If your computer freezes during the downloading process, it could be because you selected the "Open" option instead of the "Save to Disk" option in the file download window. When you selct "Open", your system will try to open the file. You must have embroidery software installed on your computer to be able to see the designs or send them to your machine.

I cannot find the designs on my computer?

When you download the designs make sure you save them in a folder that you can easily find later on.If you are not able to locate the designs, go to your file search function and type in the name of the design and search the various components of your computer such as "My Documents", "Desktop" or additional drives.

Why won´t my design file open?

If you want to open designs on your computer, then you need embroidery software installed on your computer. Please keep in mind that you might not need embroidery software. If you have a machine that takes floppy disks, CDs, USB sticks, direct transfers or connection from your computer, then you can simply download the design using the appropriate media and transfer it to your embroidery machine.

What are .zip files?

To offer you a fast way to download the files to your computer bigger files are compressed or „ziped“. How to open a “zipped” file ? If you have Windows ME, XP, Vista or Apple OS X just double click on the .zip file. Your web browser will ask you where to save the file on your computer. You can put it where ever you like to have it stored.
If you do not have Windows ME, XP, Vista or Apple OSX then you need to download and install a special piece of software that will “zip” and “unzip” files. You can get a free version of WinZip at www.winzip.com . For Mac try www.stuffit.com.

How do I upload designs to my embroidery machine?

Once the files are on your computer, please choose the format you need for your embroidery machine and copy it to a memory card or USB Stick. Now your embroidery machine is able to read the files. If you have specific questions regarding this topic take a look at the instruction manual of your embroidery machine.

Are designs test stitched?

Yes, designs have been stitched out for quality approval a number of times. All comments were seriously considered and if necessary incorporated into the designs. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the cooperation of all test stitchers.

Why does the design color not match the online picture?

I cannot guarantee that your software will reflect the colors thread Anja used to sew her designs. Each machine has a certain amount of colors in its palette. Remember: You can ignore the colors that you see on your display screen, just follow the color information that comes with the design.

How can I trace my design?

Tape the design to the window. Place the fabric or pattern tracing material over the design and tape or pin in place. Trace the desired lines on the fabric. This works fine for light or transparent fabric. For any other material you might use, use tracing paper or a stabilizer. There are plenty of different stabilizers on the market. I recommend to use tear away stabilizers to trace your designs. But certainly you will find out by yourself what is best for your purpose.

What kind of stitches do you use for the designs?

Running stitch, stern stitch, back stitch, split stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch and french stitch.

How can I pay?

I accept payments by money order, credit card or PayPal. Take a look at the left side of this page. See the “Payment and Download” button ? Here you will find further information.

When can I start the download of my designs?

If your payment method is money transfer, and I received your money, I will send you a seperate email. Once you recieved this email, your designs are instantly downloadable.
If your payment method is PayPal, payments are processed by PayPal. You will be transferred to the website of PayPal to securely complete your payment before being returned to my website. Your designs are available for immediate download.
If your payment method is credit card and your payment has been cleared your designs are also available for immediate download.

Why would I not be able to get my designs immediately?

Your designs will be available as soon as your credit card or PayPal payment has been cleared. If you are having difficulties with clearing, please contact your credit card cutomer service ot PayPal customer service. If your payment method is money order, your designs are not downloadable until I received payment.

How long will my purchased designs stay in my account?

Each design purchased will remain in your account for 2 downloads.

Will I be charged if I download a design more than once?

You can download your designs 2 times. After 2 downloads, you will have no longer access to download the designs and designs will need to be purchased again in order to download them. For your own safty please make a copy of your file in case of data loss.
